Chic East London Wedding
Julia & Stefan had been planning their Swedish destination wedding, then, of course, the pandemic hit, the beginning of 18 months of cancelling and rescheduling and cancelling again. By the spring of 2021, they’d decided to move the wedding to London, but even then, they had to change the evening reception venue just 10 days out because of various restrictions. After lots of frantic emails and WhatsApp’s, things somehow magically came together. Because of social distancing requirements at Hackney Town Hall, only eight people could attend the official ceremony. After the intimate ceremony, dozens of friends met them on the steps with confetti made from hand-dried rose petals, and then everyone did the 20-minute walk down Mare Street together to Bistrotheque.
Once at Bistrotheque in East London, they held a personal ceremony. Sage Flowers had filled the room with beautiful arrangements – including a flower cloud that framed them during their vows. Guests were treated to a beautiful lunch, with Shrimpy’s spicy margaritas and lots of crémant. As the day wore on, Bistrotheque served espresso Martinis to wake everyone up for the evening celebrations, and after so long without seeing all their friends & family, there was certainly a lot of love in the room that night.
